Children with attention deficit disorder and/or learning disabilities can be a challenge for any classroom teacher.  This page provides some practical suggestions that can be used in a regular classroom as well as the special education classroom.

CEC advocates for appropriate governmental policies, sets professional standards, provides professional development, and helps professionals obtain conditions and resources necessary for effective professional practice. CEC is known as THE source for information, resources, and professional development for special educators.

The Council of Administrators for Special Education (CASE) is a Division of the Council for Exceptional Children (CEC) whose members are dedicated to the enhancement of the worth, dignity, potential, and uniqueness of each individual in society.

The National Center to Improve Practice was federally funded from 1992-1998 to improve educational outcomes for students with disabilities by promoting the effective use of assistive and instructional technologies among educators and related personnel serving these students.
Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) is an evidence-based three-tiered framework to improve and integrate all of the data, systems, and practices affecting student outcomes every day. 
Inclusion is more than physical presence in the classroom. Students learn when they actively participate in academic lessons and interact with others.  Here are some tips to create a meaningful and inclusive learning environment.
