About Me

My name is Emily Johannes and I began teaching at Kirbyville Elementary School in 2009. I wanted to take this opportunity to share a little bit about myself and how excited I am to be teaching second grade this year.

My husband Josh and I graduated from Southwest Baptist University in Bolivar, Missouri in the Spring of 2009. I received my degree in Elementary Education with a concentration in Early Childhood Education and he received his degree in Pastoral Ministry.

As we approached our graduation, Josh and I decided to relocate to the Forsyth area so that he could accept a position as the pastor at the Sardis General Baptist Church. Naturally, I was thrilled when I got the news that I would be teaching second grade just down the road in Kirbyville!  We recently bought a house in the Kirbyville district and are proud to call this charming community our home.

I am an Army brat born and raised, so I spent a lot of my childhood traveling around our beautiful country. Some of my favorite places have been: Monterey, California and Sierra Vista, Arizona.

My extended family currently lives in Willard, Missouri so I get to spend a lot of time with my mother, father, and two sisters.

Josh and I love being involved with our church family and spending time with our beautiful daughters Clara and Evelyn.
